Who we are

Terrabyte LLC ("Terrabyte", "we", "us") operates terrabytepc.com and provides computer repair, data recovery, custom PC builds, and Managed IT services in the Magnolia and North Houston area. You can reach us at info@terrabytepc.com, (346) 336-2877, or 33105 Forest W St Unit D1, Magnolia, TX 77354. This policy explains what we collect through this website and through servicing your devices, and what we do with it.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit our booking or contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number, the service you are requesting, the device concerned, a description of the issue, and, where relevant to an on-site visit, a service address. We collect whatever else you choose to tell us in the message field, so please do not include passwords or payment card numbers there.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we receive your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you view. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking (tag AW-1015921276), which set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser to measure traffic and the performance of our advertising, including remarketing.

Payment information

Card payments — in the shop, on an invoice, or through checkout on this site — are processed by Stripe. Your full card number is sent directly to Stripe and is never stored on our servers. We retain only what we need to identify a transaction, such as the amount, date, and the last four digits.

Stored in your browser, not sent to us

Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry, quote work, and schedule and carry out a repair or service
  • To create and track your job in our customer management system
  • To take payment and issue receipts and invoices
  • To contact you about the status of work in progress, including warranty questions
  • To understand which pages and advertisements bring customers to us, in aggregate
  • To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only for that purpose:

  • Stripe — to process card payments
  • Google — analytics and advertising measurement
  • Our email provider — to deliver and receive correspondence about your job
  • Our customer management system — where your job record, device details, and service history are stored

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Data on the devices we service

Repairing a computer often means our technicians can access the files on it. We treat that access as a matter of trust:

  • We access your files only as far as the repair or recovery you approved requires
  • We do not copy, retain, or share your personal files beyond what that work needs
  • Any working copy or backup image we make for the job is deleted once the work is complete and collected, unless you ask us in writing to keep it
  • If we encounter material we are legally obliged to report, we will report it

Please remove or, where possible, encrypt anything you would rather we did not see before handing a device over.

How long we keep it

We keep job records and the correspondence attached to them for as long as we need to support the work, honor the warranty, and satisfy tax and accounting rules — and then we dispose of them. Analytics data is retained according to Google's own retention settings.

Your choices

  • Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep
  • Opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, or block cookies in your browser
  • Tell us to stop sending you marketing messages, which we will act on without affecting service communications about work in progress

Email info@terrabytepc.com and we will respond. Texas residents may have additional rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act; we will honor a valid request under it whether or not we are strictly required to.

Security, children, and changes

This site is served over HTTPS and we restrict access to customer records to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee against every possible breach.

Our services are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made clear on the site.
